Changes made to electric/gas

Turn off lights as you leave the room. Only do full loads of washing/ dry wet washing on an airer before tumble drying. Turn of for switch off anythin    that is plugged in if you do not use it at that time, turn off electric showers after use turn fan off when not needed if you have one.

If not double glazed cover windows in plastic and front door with a curtain if poss.Use Draft excluders.

Why the contribution is important

I do this and it saved me on my bills immediately. Did the use plastic trick in other house this bungalow is double glazed but I still have a curtain over the front door.

About the easiest thing anyone can do to save £££s.

An additional idea, especially for those living in older houses prone to damp in the winter, is to invest in a dehumidifier. Removing moisture from the air actually makes the room feel warmer without needing to turn the heating up. Plus the dehumidifier will add some heat to the room, and of course protect your walls from damp.
