Tip- turn off radiators in rooms you are not in
Some people need to have the heating on to manage their health condition.
Try to plan when you will have the heating on, to make sure you will not be opening the door often so the heat stays for longer.
Turn off radiators in rooms that you are not using or that are too large. That way you are only heating the space you are in.
I think it is important to know where the nearest warm hubs are. If the cost of heating your home day and night is too high, lots of the warm hubs are very welcoming and they even are offering free drinks. I think that is where I will go when my husband is at work.
Why the contribution is important
Turning the heating off is not an option for everyone and staying warm is a necessity.
I live in a very small house and not having the heating on makes me very ill. It costs approximately £1 for 45 minutes of heat at 18 degrees. I mostly use blankets, hot water bottles and hot drinks to stay warm.
