School Streets program

A county or borough wide "School Streets" scheme that supports and enables Traffic Restriction Orders in the vicinity of school entrances during pick-up and drop off times

Suitably located schools would then be able to significantly reduce the risks to pupils, parents, staff and local residents from collisions, and from pollution, arising from motor vehicle traffic congestion.

It would also support and enable greater active travel to and from schools, improving both health and education outcomes for children.
